In January of 2011 we kicked off our In His Shoes interview series with the “Modern Day Matchmaker” Paul Brunson. In a never before two-part interview, Paul is back and ready to give us the inside scoop on all of his amazing career developments with his new show on OWN, “Love Town” and the launch of his new book!
Let’s face it. Funding a film independently is no small feat. Just ask Brooklyn-based filmmakers and creative visionaries, Daoud Abeid and Dahkil Hausif of Sunshowah Films. After realizing that compromising quality for limited budgets is simply not an option, this dynamic duo hopped on Kickstarter to raise funds for their latest masterpiece, “…The Harder They Fall.” As a coming of age story from the streets of Brooklyn to the mountains of Jamaica, “…The Harder They Fall” shows just how far a parent will go to save their child from himself.
In Her Shoes had the pleasure of talking shop with these two dynamic talents as they prepare for what just may be their greatest piece yet. They’re known for making statements, but live each and every day of their lives truly making a difference.
Meet Brooklyn’s newest multi-media artist by way of the Windy City, Mr. Christophe Roberts. He expresses his creativity through graphic design, painting, sculptures, and head-turning installations with work currently installed in the New York City retail window for one of the world’s leading athletic brands. This über-busy creator took time out of his demanding schedule to sit down with In Her Shoes for the second part of our ongoing In His Shoes interview series. We chatted about Christophe’s move from the Chi to the Big Apple, his creative influences, and what he loves about fly female entrepreneurs.
Today I’m happy to share my first installation of the In “His” Shoes series. Yes, ladies you’re in the right place and your eyes haven’t deceived you. Once a month, In Her Shoes will become In “His” Shoes as we shine light on our male counterparts who are blazing their own trails, launching their own businesses and building their own brands. Our first Fly Fella Entrepreneur is none other than “The Modern Day Matchmaker” and founder of One Degree From Me, Mr. Paul Carrick Brunson
