Tomorrow afternoon in Brooklyn, beautypreneur T. Bernie Bernard of COCOACHiC Beauty is hosting Yoga to the Curvy Curly in Fort Greene Park. Sponsored by EDEN BodyWorks, the afternoon affair will feature a lively discussion with industry experts Monique Schubert (Visual Artist & Yoga Teacher), Rebecca Casciano (Makeup & Wellness Consultant), and Leatrice Carter (owner, TIME Salon).
Yoga has been practiced for centuries and is celebrated now more than ever across the globe. The benefits of yoga are many and when you consider how many hours in a week, in a month or in a year we spend working, it becomes quite clear just how valuable those benefits are in your work day itself
As many of you know, last night I had the honor of joining forces with my favorite beautypreneur, Ms. T. Bernie Bernard of COCOACHiC Beauty to co-host the “Haute Strut” Stiletto Power Speed Networking event. When she approached me with the request to collaborate I didn’t have to think twice. It just made sense. We’ve always admired each other’s work and both wanted to host a NYC event this summer so it didn’t take long for us to hit the ground running. Between the two of us, I really don’t know who’s schedule is crazier but thank Goddess, everything came together flawlessly!
If you’ve got your mom on speed dial for those moments when you need advice on career, love, parenting, or just life in general, you’re not alone. Moms just seem to have a knack for giving sound advice (even when we’re not ready to hear it!) and sharing memorable words of wisdom. Just in time for mom’s special day, a few of my favorite movers and shakers share the best advice they ever received from their own mothers and mother figures.
What happens when over 400 style-savvy New York City women descend upon the Tracy Reese flagship store on a cold and rainy Wednesday night? Pure FABULOUSNESS, of course!
COCOAChic founder T. Bernie Bernard, Glamazon blog’s Jessica C. Andrews and Andrea Arterbery, Radio Personality Angela Yee, and The Fashion Bomb’s Claire Sulmers were our lovely hostesses for the Pretty Girls Rock Dresses event. As part of Dearroka Winfrey’s nationwide initiative, Pretty Girls Rock Dresses challenges women to “wear dresses and heels like our mothers and grandmothers” at least three times a week
Women of color have got to be the most creative beings on the planet when it comes to hair. We rock curly fros, relaxers, twists, braids, weaves, wigs, ceasars, baldies and guess what? It’s ALL beautiful! Join me this Saturday, March 26th, at the Select Strands Studio for the special Women’s History Month panel event appropriately titled “I Am Not My Hair.” As a beauty PR specialist and certified hair product junkie, I’ve been invited to sit on this panel with some of the industry’s hottest movers and shakers including: T. Bernie Bernard, Keith Campbell, KJ Rose, Jessica C. Andrews and Leatrice Carter
