It’s that time of the year again! Time Magazine is shining light on leaders, artists, innovators, icons and heroes that are considered to be the most influential people in the world. Yes, the WORLD. I’m happy to announce that our very own fly female entrepreneur, the oh-so-lovely Mrs. Mara Brock Akil, is one of the nominees!

She was absolutely FAB: cool as a fan, smart, sweet, confident and a shining example of how following your dreams leads to your best life
Aren’t you just loving the Black girl pride that’s in the air these days? Initiatives like Black Girls Rock!, My Black is Beautiful and even our own In Her Shoes “Fly Female Entrepreneur” movement, make being a woman of color an even MORE amazing experience

A collective sigh of relief was heard among NYC movers and shakers bidding farewell to one of their busiest times of the year. Fashion Week fatigue strikes again! I had the pleasure of attending a few really great events last week
